it started off as a limp
but it went on for far more than necessary,
her left shoulder started to waste away,
it turned out that isla
our dear, beloved dog and my friend
had cancer
there was nothing that could be done,
the cancer had spread thought her spine
and around her body
her parents have put her on a series of pills and pain killers
which send her to cloud nine,
and she hops along merrily on three legs
